I’ve scoured the forums over the last 5 minutes and I can’t find the answer to this question so I hope it’s not a dumb one. While using the Joseki explorer the explanations often refer to a book citing (pg. 14) or (Vol. 1) for example.
Does anyone know what book they’re citing? I’d like to hone my Joseki knowledge and would love to read a book that offers an in depth understanding of common patterns.
If no one knows I’d also love any recommendations on what Joseki book you like most, ideally one that’s as up to date as possible to account for AI (though I understand that one that’s completely up to date isn’t likely).
AI (though I understand that one that’s completely up to date isn’t likely)
I have been exploring josekis and openings with AI for four years now and my conclusion is follows. The world’s combination of all currently available media on josekis covers only roughly 5% ~ 20% of those played by AI. It will require about 20 more years until everything will be described as well as pre-AI media described human pre-AI joseki knowledge.
The 3-volume AI Joseki Dictionary is already mostly outdated because it studied the early AI years apparently with too flat or sparse search.
