I’m playing as Black and my opponent as White, but at the top of the screen, the colors are swapped.
I think the design is a bit confusing. The white circle next to your picture does not mean you are playing as white, it keeps track of how many white stone’s you’ve captured (which implies you’re black). The stones in between your names indicates what colour you are:
The black stone is closer to you, so you are black, and the white stone is closer to your opponent, so they are white.
