Bug: Estimate score + Unconfirmed move = UI thinking the move has been played

To recreate this:

  1. Go into a correspondence game you are participating in, where it’s your move to play
  2. Place an unconfirmed move
  3. Estimate score
  4. Press ‘back to board’

If I do this (latest version of Firefox, Win10) the UI thinks my unconfirmed move has been played, with text saying it’s my opponents turn, a circle on the stone, and the option to request undo (I’ve not clicked this, too afraid to mess up my correspondence games).

Kinda scary when it first happens. Going through the game with the move arrows at the bottom of the board fixes it.

This doesn’t happen to me using Samsung browser on Android, but I can confirm the issue using Chrome on same device.

@anoek is this possibly introduced with the change that enables estimation on review?

Yeah I suspect so

I can confirm this for Firefox (under Debian).

I use Chrome on an HP laptop, and it hasn’t happened to me, but my experience may be outdated since I haven’t done this in a couple weeks. Too scared to experiment now.

I can reproduce this bug in mobile Chrome for Android.

Note, it does not actually play the move. Refreshing the game page restores it.

Yes, it just looks like the move has been played, which is quite confusing. And when you refresh or go back to the game later, you see that it wasn’t played.
