The last several days I’ve been encountering an error where I click “play human” and the “looking for game” flag pops up, but then it goes on for a while without matching, and then if I refresh the page it goes away.
Often the yellow “Cancel Search” button is also missing during this time.
I refresh my own profile several times for a few minutes, but see nothing. Then, hours later, I log on to find several warnings that I was added to a match but left without playing moves. This has happened at least twice in the past two weeks, most noticeably this morning (2026-02-08 around 12:15 US CT).
I encountered this error on a Google Pixel 7 using Chrome and on an iPad 8 using Safari.
