What does “Challenge does not exist” mean when I click “Accept” button for a new game? How do I proceed to accept the game?

I would guess that someone else accepted the challenge a fraction of a second before you, or that the challenge had been taken or deleted earlier and you needed to refresh the tab.

Even after that incident, that same game invitation still exist online and, if I click the “accept” button again some time later, the answer is still the same, “Challenge does not exist.”

I never blocked anyone, and the other person has never played with me, does not know me, and has no reason to block me.

Then, why does the message reads “Challenge does not exist?” Shouldn’t the message be “You are blocked.”

That is not how it works.
It is an ignore list. User ignores you action of accepting their game.

I am not sure that I’m right. As I said it was my guess. It was a question.

I’m curious to know how the block list actually works for the ignoring user.

I’m not sure how actually block list work in this case. Block list for messages only hide messages from user who blocked them. So similar behavior make sense for me for accepting games.

I think the message “You are blocked.” is terrible. Ideally blocked user should not get ability to determine that they are blocked.

I still do not understand. I am new to this site and there is no reason why anyone would block me.

Another explanation is also possible: maybe the challenger and the challenged player have incompatible rank restrictions in their settings.

This happened with players who are rated the same rank as mine or one-level difference.

Thank you everyone for trying to help me. Unfortunately, I still do not understand the situation. Nevertheless, I appreciate your effort.
It seems that I am the only one who has experienced this kind of situations, but it happened to me more than once. Therefore, I thought it was more or less a common occurances.

That sounds like a bug - if it’s still there let me know, we’ll investigate.

(As Conrad said, “Challenge does not exist” means exactly what it says: you are accepting a challenge that is no longer available to be accepted. It is supposed to only be seen in the circumstance that Conrad described.)

It is still happening. Specifically, when I click the “accept” button to Slowgoat2355’s invitation in the correspondence game category, the same message appears. It has been that way all day long. Furthernore, this kind of situation happened to me several times before.

Because it happened several times to me with various players, I thought that it was the result of the host player’s placing some kind of restrictions that I did not know of.
