I just signed up on this server and selected my rank based on the time I’ve been playing for, and it placed me at 18 kyu. That is too high and I’d like to change it since I have never played go against a ranked player before. The help tab said to contact a moderator to change a ranking. Is this how I contact a moderator? If so please change my rank to the lowest level available (highest number kyu). If not, please let me know how I can get in touch with a moderator. thank you! 
This is the right place, but I’m not sure I’d worry about it immediately. If you’ve been playing Go for a bit, 18k could be pretty close to where you’d fall. You’re provisional for the first five ranked games you play, so you won’t affect anyone else’s rank until then. It should give yours a chance to stabilize. 25 kyu is the lowest rank on OGS, and it typically reflects a player who knows the most basic rules and that’s about it.
