Greetings! Love this site - just discovered it. Many thanks to the admins and web gurus.
Simple question per thread heading (Sorry, couldn’t easily find an answer via search):
I logged on through my tablet and completed the first 5 or so modules of the /learn-to-play-go section. When I log out and then log back in on my desktop - same user name & password - none of the progress is seen. Starts me all over again.
To confirm, when I log back in on the tablet, sure enough, all of the progress is shown.
I would assume the progress is linked to the individual user account, not to the browser or computer being used. Is this not correct?
Thanks again for such an awesome site.
EDIT: I tried logging in via a different web browser. Same result (i.e., prior learning progress not shown). But the rest of my account’s settings are seen, so apparently this is not likely an issue unique to my browser choice.
I think for a lot of features this is optional, you can have some things as per device settings and others as a per account setting synced across devices.
I’m guessing this must be per device, but I think you can request to make it synced across accounts.
Hopefully someone more knowledgeable can come along and say if it’s possible or how difficult it would be to set that up.
Aha … I just came across this earlier thread (below) which raises the same question.
Apparently this functionality is not currently in place. Personally, not a big deal - as I am only likely to go through the “learn” tabs once in a lifetime anyhow. Not on an on-going basis.
Still incredibly appreciative of the work that goes into this amazing resource to the international Go community.
