Create room with restricted membership

I work with various children’s groups learning Go. I would like to set up a room for them to support ladders among them, but privacy is an issue, especially for younger kids.

Would it be possible to create rooms with an administrator who must approve anyone joining the room? That would allow me to restrict a room known students.

Yes it can in the group settings

Groups can be invite only. But as long as they know not to choose handles which can identify them until they’re old enough to make an informed decision regarding the matter, I don’t see the privacy issues.
