It doesn’t delete a branch, it deletes a move in a branch. Confusing when you first try to work it out!
You can also delete the first move of a branch, and it deletes everything after that move!
But yeh its bit confusing, took me a while to figure that out too xD

It deletes the branch following the selected move, rather than the branch that is the parent of the selected move.
