Deleted players name

Out of curiosity: why deleted players have such a weird and long name?

Of course that name doesn’t fit in many places

But sometimes that name is thoroughly written with weird results

It may also overlap other names or placeholders

I’m not really suggesting anything about it.
I’m just curious about where does that kind of name come from.

BTW,
despite the interface showing buttons like “Challenge” or “Message” those users aren’t available, even just for checking their past games

I don’t know for sure, but since the feature was specifically added for Facebook sign-in compliance, my guess would be they designated the naming structure for the deleted accounts :man_shrugging: can’t think of any other reason anoek would choose such a long UID

Maybe 16 bytes calculated using a hash function?

Why don’t just add few numbers from profile page address?

yeah maybe but overkill for our purposes with so few total accounts, let alone deleted ones

But isn’t it comforting to know that the system would adequately handle if every human being on Earth created and deleted 2^95 accounts?

yes, yes, there are other practical limits that would be reached first before running out of unique names, like having enough memory to actually store all of those entries in a database, or the eventual heat death of the universe.

Out of curiosity, what tournament is this?

EDIT: oh maybe Through the Years: Long Correspondence?
