Since some time the demo boards used for relays of tournament games seems to have move numbers turned on. I find it hard to look at positions with the numbers.
Is there a possibility to turn the move numbers off?
I tried to look at the documentation, but did not find anything about it.
With the 1-button (under the blue square) you can add and remove numbers on the stones.
But I don’t know whether those relayers use some fixed format for their relays, that maybe restrict this function.
Just try and see what happens.
No, the 1-button just marks moves or intersections with numbers, like the A-button with letters.
The format for the relays is the interesting question. Would be nice if they could turn it off, but I don’t know what I should tell them to do so.
I have no idea what you are talking about. I can’t see move numbers in demo boards.
Ditto jlt. I see no numbers on the recent European youth broadcasts for example. A link and screenshot of example could help.
Still some mystery as I too have variation numbers setting on but no numbers, but a possible clue that it’s related to the broadcast move tree being one line down so strictly it’s a variation not the game line. This has sometimes caused annoyance navigating moves in broadcasts.
Thanks for bringing this up — it has annoyed me also VERY much when watching relays of games, and I had always wanted to post something in the forum and ask whether (resp. how) this could be turned off, but every time I got distracted and then forgot.
Yes, PLEASE give us a way to turn this off, and NOT by turning off move numbering in variations.
TIA
This is the desktop (or laptop) version of the server.
And this is the mobile version.
My posts are experience on mobile android Chrome.
I never see it on laptop either, to be clear.
I don’t see move numbers on
- laptop, Windows/Firefox
- laptop, Windows/Edge
- phone, Android/Chrome.
It too was for me only in a desktop, on my iPhone everything was fine.
Todays relays are looking ok with no numbers also on my desktop.
Maybe something has been fixed in the meantime?
Hm, rejoiced too soon. Now there are numbers again.
Could be a browser issue. Are the people seeing numbers using safari?
Don’t know about others but me here, yes, I use Safari on a Mac.
Good question also, I didn’t think of that, but next time I will cross-check with other browsers.
