I tried creating a puzzle on my phone for the first time. While creating it didn’t have issues, navigating to the puzzle did.
It’s hard to scroll down to the puzzle because a simple touch of the screen would cause the puzzles to be moved up and down instead of scrolling the page
The edit button is cut out from the page and it’s difficult to scroll right because of problem 1
Clicking the edit button on my chrome app didn’t work. I had to use my Safari to make the problem appear after clicking the edit button.
Anyone else experiencing the same issues?
Is there a way to improve this?
Yes, I have the same issue. I instantly gave up doing anything on mobile because of the sliding issue. But even on desktop, navigating puzzles is kind of weird, for example there’s no way to get back to the collection you are editing.
I feel like we should be able to add a button for that fairly easily. Like if the current user is the puzzle creator show this button to go to the collection.
I think the puzzle api has a field for the collection.
Edit: ignore this, just realised you said “creating” so this won’t help, sorry.
If you have android you can use the Sente App, which has all the OGS puzzle collections in a mobile friendly format. Probably not perfect but doubtless better than the main site on mobile.
Can anything be done about the responsiveness of the edit button at least? It just doesn’t work on chrome and I have to click it several times on safari for it to appear
Can confirm, I see all the issues you listed, and think they should be fixed. I recommend filing a bug report on GitHub (and definitely include the priority of each issue in relation to the others)
The more details (screenshots/urls), the better. These are bugs that an open source contributor could help resolve, and they don’t always have as much context on the site as the core team.
For the click-and-drag, I think OGS can take a page out of Spotify’s playlist editor. Elements are scrolled, unless the author clicks and drags the “3 bars” icon.
For Edit button, this should be available on the screen without scrolling. A lot of OGS’s tables have this scrolling problem unfortunately. No idea why it’s not clickable - best guess is the Drag and Drop mechanism is swallowing clicks. I have the same issue on Firefox desktop.
