How long can I be away from the app before I time out? For instance, if I’m going to another app on my phone to change a song, how much time do I have to get back? Thanks.

Is that even when you just tab out or only when you actually quit the game tab/app?
The intention is that if you keep the tab open (“tab out”) then the disconnect timer will not start.
It is intended to start only if you close the tab.
You should be able to “tab between” games.
It’s a more tricky question than it first appears, because the answer can depend upon your browser’s behaviour - and what you mean by “the app”.
If you are visiting OGS on your phone using a browser, then the basic thing is that the browser tab must keep talking to OGS, responding to OGS’s check that say “are you still here” (every second or so).
If you are using a third-party app, or a browser that does not behave in a helpful way, you might see something different. It’d be handy to know about theses cases.
