Actually, taking that idea even further, what if users could not only selecting between circle and square, but also anything in between (squares with rounded corners), so that there is a slider to select how big the rounded corners are
I don’t think this really solves the issue. I think users should be able to choose any shape describable as a series of epicycles
Because hexagons are the closest thing to circles which have an infinite regular tiling
Incidentally, it’s a travesty that computer screens are rectangles; they should be hexagons as it’s a much more natural shape

Why did you create four separate polls?

I think @Atorrante has just figured out how to make a poll with editable options

I don’t know. It is a long time ago I created a poll.
Should be one poll actually.

We wouldn’t want the evil square-supporters to infect our pure circle polls with their heretical options

My responses were absolutely serious. His, on the other hand, drags in a gratuitous reference to a recent smear specifically concerning the word “illegal.” This is outright harassment and abuse, but something that I have come to expect on OGS.

Was this actually written by benGPTo? The real @benjito would have included a PR.

I see that Conrad has mentioned my name in a thread in which I was not participating. However, as I do not consider this a contemptible act, I will continue with my day, and hope you all continue to enjoy talking about circles and squares.

Squircle
Surprised to learn that this actually is an existing word.
A squircle is a shape intermediate between a square and a circle. There are at least two definitions of "squircle" in use, the most common of which is based on the superellipse. The word "squircle" is a portmanteau of the words "square" and "circle". Squircles have been applied in design and optics.
In a Cartesian coordinate system, the superellipse is defined by the equation
The area inside the squircle can be expressed in terms of the gamma function Γ as

TL;DR
But want to chime in to say that the only acceptable shape is a Pentagram, pointing downwards (upwards for the Southern Hemisphere ).
So there.
