Double-click to move doesn't work on iPad

I found the 2014 post about “double-click to move” and it ended with it working, but not in my case at end of 2022.
Environment: iPad + safari or iPad + chrome (can be added to homescreen with the shortcuts app, but it’s not related here)
Symptom: when I play live games with the “live game submit mode” as “Double-click to move”, but it displays the “submit” button still, and the double-click simply doesn’t work (no move is played), the only way to play the move is by clicking the submit button. (The problem is I have to move my finger to different locations of the screen for all moves, which is very distracting, so I prefer to play with double-click, which works with Pandanet go).

I’m not an expert but when you say click on the iPad, do you mean tap? I’ve no idea if this makes a difference from a programming point of view but it sounds like double tap is maybe not recognised as double click.

Yes, from what I can tell that option is unfortunately only about clicking, not tapping.

Double click input not working

I just tried this out (Android phone, Brave browser) and double-click works. However, double-tapping (with your finger on the screen) does not work. You need to actually double-click, with a mouse. Not many people use a mouse on their phone or tablet so it’s kind of a pointless option for mobile devices.
