Download Single Game in Shell / Bash

Hi,

how can i download a single specific game as sgf via terminal / shell?
i tried something like that:

wget --referer='https://online-go.com/game/xxxxxxx' https://online-go.com/api/v1/games/xxxxxxx/sgf

but get an error like that:

Resolving online-go.com (online-go.com)... 2606:4700:20::ac43:4808, 2606:4700:20::681a:939, 2606:4700:20::681a:839, ...

Any Idea how i could solve that?

curl seems to work
curl https://online-go.com/api/v1/games/XXXXXXXX/sgf > mygame.sgf
If you are planning to scrap or bulk-download the site you should probably contact the administrators :wink:

Hi, thanks!! i am only planning to have a little private library of my games. + i want to play around with analyzing them… so no big data needed :wink:

Sadly it does not seem to work in this example:

 curl https://online-go.com/api/v1/games/30880415/sgf
Permission denied

Any idea what the Problem could be?

That game appears to be private (only those granted access can view it), so downloading it anonymously via the API and curl is blocked.

However, if you can access that game while logged in via the website, you can manually download the SGF file.

Also, I think someone already wrote a bulk SGF downloader tool

I also download my games both to keep my personal library of games and so I can learn how to analyze games with an AI. If you don’t mind me asking what are you using to analyze your games off-line?

Nothing yet :wink: i am starting to play go - so i am only starting to understand and learn!
My maingoal was to play around and have a new hobby^^

EDIT: how do i set games private or public? the game mentioned above was created by a friend so that we can play together. But there was nothing like privacy settings!?

When creating a new game, there is a check box to set it to private. For a game that already exists, you can check the game information to see if it is set to private.
