Free Review vs Full AI Analysis

It seems like the Free analysis behaves differently than the paid full AI analysis aside from the limit of highlighting and showing moves for only three moves. The buttons used to highlight the moves behave differently. It trips me up each time I use the free one to look at a game I observed.

In the free version it shows the move before what looks to be a mistake by the opponent. For example if black makes a mistake the button will show the white move just before that. The full AI review seems to do the opposite. The button shows the black error.

Am I understanding this correctly? Also, any idea why they are different in this way?

I haven’t experienced this, probably because I only tend to use AI in the context where I have a full one.

That said,

… it wouldn’t surprise me at all. The code is rife with opportunities for confusion about “does move 42 mean ‘the position of the board before the 42nd move is played’ or 'the position of the board after the 42nd move played” … drives me nuts!

Oh, the bane of any go codebase!

Yeah - bad enough when it’s “your own” codebase, but then integrating with AI’s that have their own ideas…
