Issue 1: Game history table is too narrow (can’t see whole table, results cut off).
Expected: Can see the whole table. There is loads of free space for it.
Issue 2: Can’t resize/widen this table. Why not?
Expected: Can resize the table.
It is a curious layout choice, because a ton of space is wasted on the left when your screen is quite wide (mine is) - you would think that the Game History table could extend further to the left and thus be less likely to need horizontal scroll.
The challenge with that is accomodating the jigsaw puzzle of the other elements as they flow around it depending on screen dimensions.
I’ve always thought this could be improved, but doing an improvement like that is actually tricky, and so it’s way down on my own “list of things to look at”.
It does come up from time to time, it might be worth @anoek reminding us if there’s something easy we could do in his opinion, or some reason why it has to be this way.
Not saying it’s a bug, really. I’m just new to the forum and had to post it under “some” category.
I do understand that designing a layout that works for all cases is tricky.
Just sharing my experience, as someone with more open games - for me it looks weird.
Humbly, I would also vote for more priority to be given to “Game History”. It is annoying that the “Game History” information in particular is obscured by a scroll bar. This table is something I look at a lot and wish I could see the full table by default.
Moreover, I think it is telling that the mobile layout (where everything is in one column) puts “Game History” near the top, yet “Activity” is at the very bottom. Frankly, if the desktop version only had one column and it was wide enough to display the entire “Game History” table, I would be a happy camper.
Full respect to the fact that layout design is hard and any sort of change to a design as popular as the user page would be a herculean effort. But if/when there’s a change, I hope “Game History” is give proper space.
Would it be possible to add a feature to hide the activity panel, similar to how the rating comparison can be hidden/shown? When it is hidden you could give more space to the game history table.
