[Game Setup] Parallel Fractional Go, Game 4

Yellow and Blue are a little hard to see on my device so I’d slightly prefer Red or Purple. (Plus those colors look cooler.) Or is it Magenta? What do you say @Gooplet?

Whatever we do I’m going to need a new profile pic…

Pink sounds good to me!

Pink works for me!

@fuseki3 Do you have a colour preference? (Between Red, Dark-Blue, Yellow)

We could also try to improve the color palette a bit.

This made me curious, I tested a theory and was somewhat surprised.

Now I believe we can use any colour with a name specified by CSS (even without changing the code)

Now is this a bug or a feature? I guess I didn’t care enough about input validation.

Ooh, it’s not just names…anyone else a Solarized fan?

I think its a nice feature!

Until someone picks grey and the last-move-indicator breaks.

The phrase “Give them enough rope” was made for this  still, I think it’s a solid design decision - worst case is not very harmful, and if users do complain, the fix may be to add special handling to things like “last move” rather than blocking playable colors

Green and pink look nice, the yellowish orange doesn’t look good next to green and the board though, I think.

Given that @fuseki3 has not voiced a colour preference (and assuming that other pairs have not changed their choice), I suggest the following secondary colours:

benjito, Jon_Ko - Green
yebellz, A_Normal_Name - Cyan
Feijoa, Gooplet - Magenta (that is the colour in the picture, pink is also available but looks different)
fuseki3, martin3141 - Brown

Like this I believe the colours are relatively easily distinguishable.

If there are no vetoes, I’ll start the game within the next 24h.

Ah apologies, was very busy so didn’t have a chance to follow the thread closely.

Cyan perhaps unless others prefer it, and I’d be fine with anything too

No problem, but @yebellz did express that they prefer cyan as well.

Oh apologies, I missed that ! In that case, then… grey or any colour ^^

Everybody please take your seat.

0 - benjito (black, green)
1 - yebellz (black, cyan)
2 - Feijoa (black, magenta)
3 - fuseki3 (black, brown)
4 - Jon_Ko (white, green)

Reminder

Your objective is to maximise the area controlled by your Team Colour. It’s a competition between Team Black and Team White.

The secondary colours introduce an additional layer of insecurity of stones - you need to also keep track of this colours liberties.

During a round, you can change your move submission as often as you wish. However …

  • Once all players have submitted their move for the round, all submissions are immediately revealed and the next round starts. So if you are the last submission, there is no opportunity to change it.
  • There is currently no way to retract your move submission without submitting another move.

How exciting! Thanks for organizing it.

Is anyone else having the problem that your move is not visible until after a page reload?

Yeah I’ve noticed that as well. I’m not sure what causes it, but I have an idea. I’ll try to fix it.
