I’m using Chrome on macOS Sequoia. I recorded a gif of it, but when I try to upload it here the upload hangs. In any event, when you mouse over a variation in OGS chat, the screen oscillates rapidly between showing and hiding the variation on the board.

I think I diagnosed the cause: when you mouse over the variation, the “sync” button appears above the variation visualizer, which pushes the chat down, which kicks your mouse off of the “variation” text, which causes the sync button to disappear, which moves the chat back up, which causes your mouse to be over the “variation” text again. So some sort of change to the layout which prevents the appearance of the sync button from moving chat would probably fix the problem.

@pwsiegel does the issue persist after a refresh? If so, might need to provide some repro details like game id and screen dimensions
It does.
To reproduce it: go to a demo board, hover over a variation posted on chat, this will create a “shadow branch” for the move tree, which then streches the move tree box larger so the chatbox is pushed down. When that happens, your cursor isnt over the posted variation anymore so the shadow branch and the variation disappears, returning everything back to “normal”, and then your curson is over the variation again etc.
Edit: Or ah yeah, i guess the culprit is the sync-button, not the appearing/disappearing shadow branch. Looks like this:

I saw it being discussed in this game relay chat also
funny enough, I don’t see variations as looking like “links” or clickable blue things anymore.
That also must be very recent, because it was working a couple of days ago, maybe even just yesterday
Yeah, I noticed it while watching the NAGF pro qualifier relays, and I refresh often to keep the variation tree clean. I can confirm that it’s happening in the Yoder vs. Xu round 3 game occurring right now.

Ah yes this problem. Every time my mouse hovers over a variation, the screen shakes and I can’t see the variation properly. Somebody said that it became “Oscillation Go Server”.
