Go logo competition

They should form a combined Swedish-Finnish Go Association

Most recent Euro coins include Norway (a country which is not an EU member and not using the Euro) to avoid exactly that.

And in order to obsfuscate the reason of that addition they tend to depict the whole of Europe, including non-EU and non-euro using countries as well, but I do not think that they are fooling anyone on why the design changed. :stuck_out_tongue:

I tried to make a logo for the Irish Go Association once, and it quickly reminded me that art (or graphic design) isn’t my thing. If you spend too much time looking at national symbols, or existing logos for go, I think you get trapped into imaging something too generic. Number 6 would have been my choice of logo, although that might be because I’m a fan of the Prisoner.

Gave some thought to a potential logo tonight, tried using Postman Pat, Acornsoft Go, Dr Who, and Stonehenge for inspiration, but couldn’t picture anything at all. Perhaps Ladybird Books | Books for Toddlers & Young Children might have offered inspiration, but it’s too late now.
