I really can’t read that fight, there are too many variations. If it was one of my games, I would expect something like

and hope to capture one of the surrounding groups.

Or

and hope that I can capture the 4 white stones. But I wouldn’t be confident and would have to read variations after each move.

Yep the first thing to check is if that black upper group can survive or not and what il will cost if so.
