Hi, as someone on the spectrum I don’t have very good social perception so I appreciate the message. So is there a place where users see all new replies anywhere within the forum? If that’s not the case maybe you could explain it further how exactly you got that idea.
I just decided to see if there were topics here where my work would be relevant and I could connect with people, just like at any online channel by looking at the rules, and here I only have posted in board design relevant topics and not posting the same thing twice on a topic. I am in a difficult financial situation and sadly have no time to waste, so if there’s anything wrong with what I’m doing let me know. Like isn’t spam for irrelevant things being repeated?
I think the concern was that it would be part of a larger pattern.
2 posts is probably not an issue, but you can probably see how pasting a message over and over can appear as spam.

So you got this screenshot from going into my profile, correct? A way in which user can verify if it’s “part of a larger pattern” or whatever, and where it shows it’s not repeated on the same topic nor irrelevant. Or are you saying the same message cannot be relevant to two different topics as well as to further board design related topics?
I think it’s fairer to discuss this topic with brubrubru individually, in a way that doesn’t imply that they are already spamming (which I don’t think was suggested).
@anoek has recently explicitly stated that he is in favour of the kinds of things that brubrubru is discussing: customisation of OGS look and feel to create unique experiences (notably, for streamer differentiation).
So there should be a fair bit of leeway before we start feeling like “this person is spamming their own thing too much”.
It is a tricky one because it is certainly a “grey zone” kind of thing, which different people will need different levels of support for.
Hence this unlisted topic for personalised advice.

As I said earlier, two is not a problem. If you were to continue to post the same message to many other topics, it would become spam.
I don’t think anyone was arguing against customization here

Just to clarify, I recognize the demand for customization especially as it relates to streamers, I’m generally not for any sort of spam though. He doesn’t have my explicit blessing per-say or anything like that.

@GreenAsJade is right, I wasn’t implying that you were spamming … it was just meant friendly.
My suggestion would be to create a dedicated topic of your own … ideally in Go Classifieds, I think.
There you could also post updates as they come.

Sorry, as I’ve mentioned here I have some social and communication difficulties and did not intend to post mindlessly at all but rather just start being present on the specific topics I would like to contribute to. It’s actually a bit overwhelming to see this many replies even if unlisted, which I do appreciate.
Also I did not know there was a place to post “classifieds”, and I recognise this mistake. I wouldn’t think about making a new topic here in general for various reasons, so not knowing about a designated place I felt like looking for specific posts where my work is relevant would be polite, but it seems I assumed wrong. It would be great to make the rules more clear to simplify this kind of support that some users may need and Green thankfully noticed.
To clarify, neither Green nor me have said anything about a direct blessing per se. And if I knew I’d be perceived as a “spammer” I would not have posted here. It’s just that if there are 100 Brazilians that play Go I’d be surprised, so naturally I have to connect with foreign enthusiasts. As a note, I do not use gendered pronouns so I’d really appreciate if neutral language is used when referring to me!

I can only speak for myself but I believe that you have NOT been “perceived as a ‘spammer’”

I’m sorry for that although it seems to me that you manage pretty well communicating with many different medias for promoting your work: I see it on the gotv (twitch) and on Reddit too.
That is basic standard advertising technique, not necessary spamming yet, and I find the given advice to create your own thread here (in classifieds) like gomagic did is a good way letting us staying informed on changes and avoiding duplicates to appear.

Autistic people behave in a great number of different ways from each other. On my case I have Social Perception preserved but as for Social Cognition, Social Communication, Social Interaction and other parameters I encounter many issues. Even for Social Perception, it works better on spoken contexts and when things are very well explained both in writing or speaking. I do not like ambiguity or unpredictable situations, hence misrepresenting the rules and not caring for editing a my message given it was posted on different, relevant topics.
Now that I know of classifieds I will create a thread when I organize part of my work and write a post specifically to be here. I like to be organized and it will take a great deal of preparation to make a topic of my own, just like it did to create both reddit posts and to feel ready to appear on stream. Of course you do not have a way of knowing how this goes, but please do not assume it was easy. Still, from what I understand it would be ok to talk about my work on relevant threads again as long as I don’t duplicate any phrases. Please let me know if that’s not the case.

That’s not completely avoidable. Even if we try to not create it. I mean we are both go players and each game is full of unpredictability, I would even say it’s a main component of a game of go to not be able to predict your opponent next move, and I hope that doesn’t ruin your pleasure (I guess so)? Writing in a forum is another place where unpredictability matters in some way too as you are asking for answers when posting.

I mentioned predictability and ambiguity it to help people understand my behaviour, not at all to imply it’s unavoidable as that would be quite silly. Also a game is controlled unpredictability, and it can be very tiring as well sometimes, just like a forum. Again I mentioned predictability to explain why sending similar messages is easier to me. It takes time to even prepare for and it affects me deeply, just like most of the work I’m trying to do for my passion project, but I won’t let my limitations prevent me from trying to interact.
IMHO we all have some difficulties in our own life, but I think it’s better to expose them as less as possible unless it’s unavoidable, or if it’s a dedicated thread to progress on these. I hope to not hurt anyone when telling this, I just think it’s a good starting point for fruitful interactions.

Mh… sometimes I think it’s good to expose them because everyone seems to think that their difficulties are theirs alone, and feel ashamed, and sharing my difficulties can make it easier for them to share theirs also … lest we torture ourselves with unnecessary shame for the rest of our lives …?
