help with a variation

This game: papab vs. Bergamot, it’s a fork of a previous game where I blundered so I did a redo.
At this point in the game:

I didn’t do the best move a couple of moves back, the the AI review shows that white didn’t respond right, so I was saved. But according to the AI review, if white does the right move, #1, black loses the corner and white saves a bunch of stones.
But if instead of N5 for #4 in that sequence, black does N6 I don’t see how white takes the corner. I’m sure I’m missing something, probly something obvious (

If White cuts at N5 the corner group is isolated with one eye.^[1] The White attacking group has no eyes but some liberties and ways to make more by capturing so it can capture Black’s corner group first.

1. ~ Why one eye?: Once the group is surrounded on the outside, White can play N1 or L2 to threaten capture. Black can temporarily prevent capture by playing in the other open space but now has only a triangle left. White plays in the middle of that triangle and Black has no way of separating two spaces to make two eyes. ↩︎

I can see that black can’t make 2 eyes, but I thought black could win a capturing race. But now that I’ve looked at it more, I don’t see how. After a bunch of Ko’s black is captured
