Horrendous Website

Well in my head it was ONE for each OS as i guess that usually people don’t need both of them.
And i didn’t feel necessary to precise that they were not developed by OGS itself as i didn’t say they were so and it seems that in any case, the relationship between those developers and OGS seems great.

There is a better Go server to play on. VERY very up to date, spiffy, modern, everything you could imagine.
Thank me later

I think you mean this one is the peak of modernity.

On the topic of making things look better, we are definitely looking for an experienced & talented UI/UX person to advise us on that and design changes.

The state of the art these days is that you can’t just make this stuff up - you need to know what you are doing.

If you’re coming with UI/UX improvement suggestions, it’d be awesome if they are concrete and well-researched and justified. :crossed_fingers:

(Otherwise we just end up with extra people (other than us) making stuff up and comparing opinions on “this looks good” :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: )

I cannot recall how I ended up there but I played my first online game there, early 2020. I still play there by the way but it sure is, how shall I put it, ‘vintage’

As far as OGS is concerned, the website serves me well. I’m happy enough to pay a modest fee to keep things going. Thank you very much team OGS!

Modern design is about cutting away all of that unnecessary clutter and really returning to the roots of Go

I am not sure I remember how I got there either (it’s been many years), but I really learned Go on DGS and also still play there and plan to get back to the ladder soon.
Imho if DGS could add a “conditional move” just to get over faster some very obvious moves (e.g. very standard joseki or a series of obvious ataris+responses) it would be the only thing I’d want.

The old kind of look is good to poke some fun to it, but the server and the Go played there is very solid

See what happens if we let just anyone have an opinion

OGS is the most elegant Go platform I have ever seen. That’s why I play Go here. You can try some other Go platforms:

The GUI style of OGS is the best without doubts…

Part of the issue with OGS is the vast array of options but that is deliberate and largely worthwhile.

Come on now, it’s a bit more modern than that while still removing a lot of the clutter

i guess the website can be more polished but its still a leading online go server and shouldn’t you care more about the game?

Thankful for the ogs site and its makers! It’s great!

For a bit of perspective on horrendous websites:
