Ifttt...?

Would it be possible to entertain OGS being a trigger into IFTTT or something like that? Inotherwords, you could get an instant message, or have your house lights change colors, when it’s your turn.

There is a Chrome OGS Notifier extension.

You might look at the code there to see the call into the OGS API to know when you have a move waiting. Then this event triggers whatever you want.

If you’re looking for the API triggers you can find all the info about the API here and here.

I’m aware this topic is a bit older but since there are no exact answers and I just played a bit around with IFTTT I wanted to share my way. It’s a bit of a workaround but I did it like this:

  1. activate email notification in OGS

  2. Create rule for incoming mails from OGS-notifications to label that email with a label, I chose “Hobby/Go” (https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6579?hl=en )

  3. Create a IFTTT recipe "If new email in inbox labeled Hobby/Go, then send a notification"
    here’s my recipe: https://ifttt.com/recipes/347361-notify-me-when-a-mail-gets-a-specific-label

This works great to actually get a notification on my phone when its my turn. The downside is that there is always a small delay. But since this is for slow correspondence games anyway it works for me
