If so why? I learned a lot of 3x4 josekis but I’m considering the orthodox defense. I don’t like the fuseki where everyone invades everyone then play. I’m open to suggestions.

Even if some opening is slightly inferior (I’m not saying 3-4 is), you can often benefit from being familiar with joseki/fuseki that other people aren’t familiar with.

I’m not a fan of Waltherie’s. It lacks modern fuseki changes drastically.

Motoki Noguchi (European 7 dan) likes unorthodox openings. In this game he started with black like this
and won against a 5d.
