In this image my volatility is 0.7. But…
When I use the API I get 0.06, which could round to 0.07 but that’s off by a factor of 10.

That’s not volatility, that’s the deviation, except converted from rating to ranks.
The overall deviation is 62.1. You’re saying this got converted to 0.7? Wouldn’t that mean I only need two wins to rank up or 1 loss to rank down? I thought this was too little game count.
If a rank is on the order of 90 rating points (up around 3-4 dan), and you gain 10 or 15 rating points per game, then you’d need like 6 wins to go up a rank, assuming something isn’t tweaking, like deviation and volatility to make you improve faster.
And
yes, imagine a rank gap is like 90 rating points, and your deviation is 62, then 62/90 =0.689 ranks.
The actual formula is a bit more involved, but call that an approximation.
