Lee Sedol played AlphaGo in the first match of the series on March 9th, 2016 @ 4am GMT. A game with lots of fighting, surprising tenukis, and insane reading. It was relayed on OGS to a record-breaking crowd of over 445! AlphaGo, which was the first computer program to beat a professional player in an even game back in October, made history yet again by coming out on top in the first game of the series against Lee Sedol, one of the world’s best players! The relayed games on OGS will be posted here as they are completed:

It does take some time to load, probably b/c of the huge chat log
Yesterday’s stream was 110k viewers cap I think?
Do you think there will be more people viewing the 2nd game because my senpai won the first game?

Apropos the number of viewers:
https://online-go.com/demo/114754 (that’s @HowToPlay ’s relay demo of the 2nd game between AlphaGo and Lee Sedol)
What about this number — is it true?
Not likely. There’s a recent bug that popped up regarding number of viewers. There would still have been a lot!

Go professionals are not AI experts, and AI experts are not pro-level Go experts. I have read many reviews on this game series, and found this one by Zhe Li, 6p to be striking a good balance. Articles published in China, translated by Prudential Center Go Club in Boston:
Game 1 Lee Sedol’s Strategy and AlphaGo Weakness
Game 2 Nobody Could Have Done a Better Job than Lee Sedol
Game 3 and 4
Game 5 translation work under way

Is there a relay without chat? It is impossible to access this file since ogs is already heavy on the connection in a normal game.
