I would like to look into those games into more depth, anyone knows if they are available in an sgf collection or sth?
(specifically the games dwyrin has reviewed, since I’ve seen the videos and can somewhat follow)

Possibly this thing
My motivation for writing this script was to review the games of “legend88” who is rumored to be a professional player who was playing against amateurs and is known for his basic and fundamentally sound style. This makes his games very good for review because it shows exactly how amateurs fall short in their games and how to retort to different tricks that might be played against oneself. There are popular streamers such as Dwyrin who has reviewed many of these games.
I haven’t check yet, but there’s an archive file (tar gz) which is called legend88 games.
You know which foreign languages I speak and this ain’t one of them
I think it’s another file format for compressing collections of files, like .zip and others.
I don’t know if I could check it on my phone, but probably it’s a collection/folder of sgfs or maybe gib files if it’s from tygem.
(Anyway I don’t think you need the whole repository, scraper etc, if that person did already collect the games and store them in that file, just download the tar gz one and unzip/extract it hopefully)
If anyone else wants to check before I have a chance feel free
This also shows up in a google search
which seems to have a web viewer for some (?) of the games anyway.
EDIT: the file can just be directly opened in newer versions of Windows.
There’s this free software 7-zip (https://www.7-zip.org/) that you can use to extract the “tar.gz” file, which is just another compressed file format. The funky file extension is just due to historical reasons (which are too pedantic to get into here, but I’d be happy to oblige, if you’re curious).
I checked the file that @shinuito mentioned (https://github.com/SThornewillvE/Pet-Project---Tygem-Fuseki-Web-Scraper-using-Python/raw/master/legend88-games.tar.gz) and it does indeed contain 133 SGF files that claim to be game records of legend88.
I can just open that archive in windows explorer without installing any software.
Well
Ah, good point, I haven’t tried opening tar.gz files in Windows in a long time, but good to see that it is supported natively in Windows file explorer now.
By the way, practically all Linux desktop environments also natively support tar.gz files. I’m not too sure about Mac, but quite possibly additional software is not needed there either.
Hey where are my historical reasons?!
I confirm it opens natively on Mac as well.
I’m not sure how to find which games Dwyrin has reviewed though? He doesn’t provide the name of the opponent.
Maybe ask him?
I think the sgf’s from his videos are part of his paid subscription or sth, so it’s only fair that he wouldn’t give them out freely.
