Lets honor Oskar Korschelt!

Hereby a humble suggestion to honor this man, in any shape form or fashion, who in the 1880’s brought Go to the western world for the first time.

As we are mostly a Western community, this is basically the man who brought us all together.

So, lets start a tournament, lets name a cup after him, lets organise a Korschelt day every year, lets do something! Anyone any ideas?

(For those who can read German, here part of his groundbreaking _ Das japanisch-chinesische Spiel Go, ein Konkurrent des Schach on Go in the journal Mitteilungen der Deutschen Gesellschaft für Natur und Völkerkunde Ostasiens )

I think this is a great idea… not just for OGS to do but fir the European Go Congress to do as well… an international european tournemebt held every year to honour him.

But for now… dping it on OGS would be a fantastic idea.

Yeah, let’s have a Korschelt Memorial tournament

Please make it a correspondent tournament. With no analysis or AI enabled. And I will join to be beaten :slightly_smiling_face:

Well, his birthday was September 18th.

So, you wanna do it then? I can wait.

Everyone has to put the Korschelt coordinates on their OGS boards :stuck_out_tongue:
