I would’ve preferred much more this variation. You keep confining white to the lower side, while you build influence towards the upper left and the center. The ladder in this case is in your favor and you only have to sacrifice one stone for this result.
I think you have over-tenuki’ed in this game. In this situation you have had to save either groups, because white capturing both of them is huge not only in terms of territory, but also in terms of building influence towards the center. I would have preferring saving the right circled group, because it has more maneuvering space. I believe your abondoning of the lower center is what gave white a leg-up in this game.
continued: So now as you see here, white’s massive influence towards the center after semi-capturing both groups makes your invasion much more difficult. Now, you are actually behind in territory. By the way, the upper right is not counted as territory yet; it is pretty much invadable as you have saw in the game. Of course, in the actual game you made life with that invasion but at the cost of giving white influence that was translate into territory in the upper center.
