well 50 % win rate is pretty good for a noob even back then you must take to the game very easily what is your rate now ??
So @dokbohm does this mean you are ready to try to win games instead of having that other goal? There are a lot of people here ready to give you suggestions if you are willing to try.
well, not quite yet, I am still trying to keep a steady achievement of my 115 moves under losing 10 stones, which I havenât yet on a regular basis kept yet. till i can obtain that goal on a regular basis i will hold off trying win any games as of now but thanks for the input maybe later when i get better at holding my own at this level i can try to win games
Just my input, watch this playlist. It goes from 25k to 5k https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5mVjO5OFYSymMy2Mixl7E5vpwFDO_0B4&si=YRWhh7v84m4UxojM
Ah, good to see all these threads rolled into one.
And now I just applied the topic âmuteâ feature for the first time.
Learning as I Go! ![]()
not ot be a nit pick or anything butthis constant lumping all my posts into one topic when they are not the same topics is that not a form of censorship, as beginners which i was trying to reach would not look into this post to see what i was asking about seems like who ever is doing this complying of all my topics into one, seems bent on limiting me acces if that is true iam very dissappointed in this site my opics should be left alone as others have that right why shouldnât i
So you consider yourself a Go expert now?
I mean, even professionals play 9x9 games.
Iâm confused.
Why are you wondering how beginners who try learning the game deal with losses?
Your situation is completely different from a typical beginner.
You are deliberately not playing Go but instead have invented a game with special rules that you stick to. And as soon as you believe you have reached the end of a game according to your rules, you are hitting the resign button.
You are neither trying to play Go nor are you trying to end games in a way that would at least allow the possibility that they would be considered a win according to the rules of Go. On the contrary: You are deliberately resigning every single game.
What you are doing has nothing to do with what typical beginners are doing.
So why exactly are you wondering?
It almost sounds like you are getting frustrated of not winning according to the rules of Go despite the fact that you are not even trying to win.
what i meant is i donât really try at 9x9 games and only use them to wait for my next 13 x13 game to start as tey are easrier to get play at âplus i really do very very badly in those 9x9 that is and yes i know i do badly at 13x13 also but at least iam trying hard in those games as i donât in 9x9 ones
how i play is not the point, in my querry, i wanted to know how others felt losing all the time adn how they dealy with it you know sorrow in numbers how i improve at this game is something iam experiteing in and will see how its goes i just wanted to see what others do to cope with losing all the time
yes you are right but this is a 9x9 game which i donât play with seriousness as i have stated above before i just use those to wait my time till my 13x13 game gets started please show a 13x13 to make your point i would love to read what you have say and maybe digest a bit of it
With some respect to you @dokbohm , I honestly no longer think it is wise or prudent to give this person any more advice. I have been observing this thread since the beginning and have wanted to respond many times with advice and to tell everyone to stop posting in response to this person.
I think itâs fair to say that I am frustrated. Everyone in here keeps being gaslighted by this person into feeling sorry for them so that you all end up wasting more and more time on this one person, who has never once even bothered to even come close to listening or internalising any of the advice given here, no matter how many times they may have been given the same piece of information.
I am not a particularly smart person⊠nor am I âby the bookâ all the way, a âsaneâ personâŠbut there is a phrase Iâm sure most people know⊠âattempting the same thing over and over again, and expecting different results, is a sign of madness.â
And nowâŠto address you personally, Dokbohm⊠have you like never heard of Google? Have you never used YouTube? I find it difficult to believe that you can be so stuck as you are, and crying out for help⊠without at least doing even the bare minimum of a Google or YouTube search to find resources that are specifically designed to help you. Hell there is a âlearn to play goâ function on the OGS website that would actually go a long way to helping you figure out the very basics of the gameâŠand yet, you seem so keenly oblivious to the obvious that it calls into question whether or not you are strugglingâŠor whether or not you are weaponising your incompidence to waste everyones time.
FYIâŠ.and FWIW⊠I donât like being âthe guyâ to call people out like this, but Iâm genuinely annoyed at this point. Its never ending⊠its been months now. Like actual moths. Al this effort⊠hundreds of responses, and about 14 diferent posts merged into this nonsensical stream of consious nonsense. At what point exactlyâŠare you actually going to start listening to what people say? because clearlyâŠyouve tried doing it âyour wayâ, and its not working for you is it?
That seems to be a link to edit the collection, but not to do the problems!
If I tap a problem nothing happens, and I see no other way to start doing them. But they do look very useful.
So sorry. Most of the time when I am working on my puzzle collections I do that in my private space (that does for obvious reasons not open to others).
If you search for O.G.S. you will find several puzzle collection perfectly suited for absolute beginners
Corrected the link.
Once you manage to imagine Sisyphus happy, you might appreciate the value of these conversations as well.
Yes, it is painful and frustrating.
But it is hilarious as well. And even captivating at times.
And even if @dokbohm isnât real (and is some sort of AI project of some master thesis instead for example??), the situation wouldnât be very different.
And if you really canât stand it any longer, you can still mute the topic
You know what, a while ago I copy-pasted one of dokbohmâs posts into an AI detector, and it concluded that he was real⊠However Iâm still not 100% convinced (he doesnât listen to advice, doesnât answer questions, doesnât make screenshots, doesnât connect to voice chat on Discord, etc.)
its amasing how wrong most of you are about me â but then maybe its my own fault for asking for help, so to keep the peace i will in the future just make comments, instead of asking of help and will puddle along trying to find my own way to improve because, i guess going from 80 moves and 20 stones per game to 115 moves and 10 stones i guess is not improvement from most that are here in the forums expect as improvement, yet in the games i play i get great encouragement from others and even helpful advice form time to time at least once a day in fact from people like me the bottom feeders at this site back to the games
Unfortunately (and apparently), the game you have invented is not helping you understand the game of Go any better.
After hundreds of games you keep making the same fundamental mistakes. You
- very regularly throw stones on the board after âthinkingâ for less than one second
- miss basic ataris
- do not show any understanding of life and death
How about going back to the ton of advice you received here?
But this time actually following it?
I know, @Lord_o_o_Spoon, even uttering this suggestion probably is some sign of madness on my part.
I can understand that suspicion very well but if you search the ânet for âdokbohmâ youâll find that he quite probably is real, except if that AI is active on at least two other sites as well, selling stuff and playing Chess.
