Looking for Teaching and DE-EN-日本 Language Exchange

Hi everyone,

looks like here is a great teaching community! I am wondering if there is someone who would like to do a language exchange while studying Go together.

I am a chess player by trait :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: and started to get more into Go in the beginning of this year of this year, where I lived in Japan for 3 month and joined a igo club. I am already studying Japanese on and off since 2016, but it became much more serious now and I really like to study it in the context of go. Learning Go in Japan brought me a lot closer to it and I am actually starting to like it more than chess  So maybe there is somebody interested in this or knows someone that might be. In regards to Japanese level I think I am close to N3, but not quite there jet. I can also teach you german, english or chess if you like.

On the other hand I would also love to just have a Go training partner, who would like to train together and also philosphy over other stuff. I am a robotics engineer and world traveler and I think I have many interesting things to talk about for all you nerds out there

I live in germany and am usually free on Tuesdays and Wednesdays around 19:00 UST/GMT +1 (CET) or more felxibly on the weekend.

what is that?

The official Japanese Language Proficiency Test has 5 levels, from N5, the easiest, to N1, almost native speaker.

One thing to mention that there’s no oral component, so you can be N1 but can’t even speak properly :joy:

Anyway @Timbotic welcome!

I know both English and Japanese but I don’t know German other than the fact that it’s very difficult. I’m not sure how you want to do the exchange but I’m interested in languages so sure. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes: For Go games if you are okay with correspondence you can send me a request anytime.

Hi Sadaharu,
German is just an option
Yeah I forgot to say, idealy I would like to do videocalls, but having a correspondence game and writing a message with every move sounds also fun
