Losing on purpose (how the site decides it)

Hello

If one player with 14k strength plays first move on the border and then ty to defend it is it not sandbaging/losing on purpose? I mean i would think that a 25k player would not now better but 14k

But aperently not. So did anyone ever get punsish and such lax rules about sandbagging. I cannot think that is the case

I had a look through your history and I think I found the game.

Have a look at your opponent’s history. Do they have many games? Sometimes a player might have a rating but has only played a few games. The player I think you are talking about looks like they started off at the wrong rank, and have been dropping, so they might not actually be 14k.

All their other games look like the game you played, so they are probably just a beginner who doesn’t know better.

Why? You don’t know what things are looked at to make a decision. Based off of one game you’ve decided that the sandbagging rules are lax and nobody ever gets punished? Come on.

Even if the person should have received some kind of warning, people also make mistakes. The users who moderate here are people. You can’t expect the outcomes to be right 100% of the time. As a consequence of this, you can’t say the whole system is bunk because of one mistake.

I just saw some children shooting each other with toy guns. How come the police never catch murderers and no one goes to jail for murder?
