But how many people would put in the effort to cheat like that? I don’t find it likely that people would try hard to cheat to get a few more seconds per move in a blitz go game.
People apparently go to significant efforts to cheat in ways that I don’t even understand the benefits of. This actually sounds like a way of cheating with a clear pay off for a change!

Now I’m thinking of how pointlessly someone could cheat. What about winning their first game, losing their next two, winning the next, losing one, winning two in a row, losing two in a row, winning two in a row again, losing one, &c. according to the Thue-Morse sequence?
