Mid and Endgame Help

I was playing this game: https://online-go.com/game/1982697 and it started off okay for me, but I messed up . Can someone review and see where I went wrong? Thanks!

I understand that you’re asking for help but I think that you just need to spend more time playing at your level. Most of the mistakes you do are reading problems. I suggest that you take more time thinking ahead with your moves to the best of your ability. It may be hard, but the more your practice the better it will get.

You don’t need mid and endgame help. Neither do you have to practice reading right now, though that can be helpful for sure.

I recommend that you read about the basic instincts to get an idea about the most fundamental elements of tactics: http://senseis.xmp.net/?BasicInstinct
Once you have practiced that, here is a list of wiki pages that can help you further: http://senseis.xmp.net/?GeneralOpeningPrinciples

Review some professional games to get a general idea about the kinds of moves that people actually play, and what a proper game of Go looks like.
On this website you can find some commented pro games: https://gogameguru.com/ (just search through the blog posts until you find one). It will help you to look at them even if you do not understand the moves or the comments.

Edit: I just looked again and you do seem to use these basic instincts often enough. You also have almost 200 ranked games. Let me correct myself then; you should definitely look at pro games, and also:

  • Prefer to play on the 3rd and 4th line in the opening
  • Learn about efficiency. Unfortunately, this page sucks: http://senseis.xmp.net/?Efficiency It’s missing the diagrams when I look at it.
