We have added the ability to edit the description of reports that you have submitted.
The button to do this is in the drop-down from the triangle at the top right where you find your submitted reports.
Along with this change, we have added a check to prevent duplicate reports being submitted on the same game.
If you go to submit a second report on the same game, you will be taken to the existing report in the dropdown, where you can update the details with the new information.
(Note that in theory there are circumstances where you might conceivably have a good reason to submit more than one report on a game, but the downsides of receiving duplicate reports continuously (as we have up till now) outweigh this consideration).
( I can see from logs that at least one person has had an issue caused by this. Hopefully that’s fixed now )
I can’t change the type of report, nor can I select multiple types.
My opponent stalled first and then score cheated.
Also I’d like to know if the report type affects how quickly the report is processed?
Which one will be processed with higher priority, stall or score cheat?
I don’t know if I should cancel my report and resubmit it with score cheat?
Please clarify: did you try to make a separate report with a different category and were prevented from doing so? I originally meant to ask that question in this thread and forget, so your info would be a great help.
As I mentioned in a separate thread, CMs generally handle reports in the order received. If the CM or mod sees that score cheating also occurred, they will. or should, recategorize the report as score cheating, because that is the more important category. Alternatively, you could delete your report and refile it as score cheating.
BTW, cheaters who fail to achieve their aim by stalling very often proceed to score cheating.
Yes.
I can’t submit another report on the same game after already submitting one.
I haven’t tried canceling and changing categories, the reason I reported my opponent was because of the stall.
I want to change it to score cheating, but there is no such edit option.
I also can’t submit a new report for the same game.
I had been waiting for 8 hours, and I felt that if I canceled and changed to score cheating, I might have to queue up again and wait longer, so I didn’t do that.
It is to prevent frustrated people submitting multiple reports for the same thing - something that understandably happens from time to time, but just makes the situation worse: wasting moderator’s time assessing and closing out duplicate reports when they could have been working on new ones.
For future reference: that is one of the options you need to consider.
The other is to edit your existing report (as per the original post in this topic) to describe the situation in detail.
We could potentially do the work to enable users to change the “type” of report, but it does not appear to be a good return on development effort. Just cancel it and raise a new one if you must.
Yes - see above
Multiple reports for the same game are an unfortunate waste of everyone’s time.
All you needed to do was edit the description to elaborate on what you were facing.
8 hours is a very short period of time to wait for a report, at the moment.
Hopefully when Community Moderation rolls out “as envisioned” this situation will be remedied or at least somewhat improved.
Summary: if the situation in a game that you have reported changes, simply edit your existing report.
If the existing report is “really wrong now” then cancel it and raise a new one.
