I wonder if the koala is not the perfect mnemonic device for the basics of go:
- Koalas are naturally stoic (or perhaps epicurean) and will not waste energy and effort for nothing (i.e., the try to remain calm)
- Koalas are territorial and good at keeping other Koalas out of their territories
- Koalas use the strategies of Sun Tzu when fighting and try to defeat other Koalas without having to engage them in direct combat (i.e., scaring or pushing the other Koala away)
- When koalas invade the territory of another koala, the try to sneak in without getting noticed
Aren’t these characteristics the basics of go strategy?
