My Grumpy Sensei and I (An experiment with AI)

@trohde & @Counting_Zenist
Building on our interesting chats about “ecological niches”, “structure and comparison” and the flow of time, I’d love to share some thoughts on the bright side of collective wisdom.

Imagine how beautifully Natural Intelligence (NI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) can combine, much like how a Go player learns from both human mentors and AI analysis.

It’s all about finding that wonderful harmony in collaboration!

This also makes me think about Óðr and EL EL EN EN🐾. Since EL EL EN EN is half-machine, I’m really curious: why do you think Óðr wasn’t keen on her playing with bots?

Bah!
AI slop.
Illegal position.

Shouldn’t – should NOT! – be allowed in a Go forum because it can confuse newbies and teach wrong things, it muddies our visual pattern learning.

Do you understand?
Don’t you understand?

@trohde Ahihihi,
your passionate “call to action” style sounds both like a Haiku, AND a Judge at court:)

In fact, as the author/co-creator of the picture, I did carefully double check all positions of the stones.

Given the context of EL EL EN EN (White) and her Sensi (Black) playing,

Black moves first,

which one is in “illegal position”, Sir?

also it is a 15x13 board, not to mention majority of the stones not on the intersections

WoW, cool. Valid point. Let me ask KK to re-create the picture.

I always admire how Go can help Chinese/Japanese to be precise (left brain) and also be imaginative (right brain).

You use “also”, so tell me which one is in “illegal position”?

Oh my!

Have you ever tried playing Go offline with a five-year-old, or struggled with your own “chubby fingers” on the board, or maybe worked with AI assistants like Sora or Canva thousands of times?

Sometimes real-world (and AI-world!) interactions come with their own unique challenges, right?

On a related note, since sounds and graphics aren’t as neatly structured as language or numbers, it’s true we can’t always expect AI chatbots or agents to be perfect.

As they try their best to understand us, perhaps we should also extend a little compassion towards them. What do you think?

@GreenAsJade

Mr. GAJ, speaking for myself, I’m genuinely thankful for the OGS Bots. I’ve played over 808 games with various ones and really value the experience.

@Counting_Zenist

COUNTING Genius it is, KK and I have double and triple checked all boards, and graphically and legally speaking, this is THE ONE (though perfectly wise, it is not yet, spelling of “and” and no space between “loss…” and “and”, and the squares are not even):

PS: Thanks to Super Editorial Board, now I can issue better prompts, clear and concise, to KK.

And now it is 8x9 (and 8x10, since the “lines” don’t “line up” on the left to right, or a 4x9 and a 4x10 board “mixed together”)

How much content, in the post went through human checks and edits? or if any? There is no point answering what is illegal or not if none of the feedback is filtered through human perception and labelling. It would just repeat endless slob over and over again.

@trohde A quick note on my AI background:

I was out of the loop on AI developments from November 2022 to November 2024.

Then, somewhat reluctantly, I began familiarizing myself with tools like Gemini, Copilot, ChatGPT, and Canva from December 2024 to March 2025.

Now, I’d love to share something insightful from KK!

Here’s a recap of a Harvard Business Review article (from your source) they’ve put together, plus their own take on the issue we’ve been discussing.

It’s a great opportunity for KK to share their thoughts, and I’m sure we’d all be interested!

Question:

KK, as we both intensively train and be trained during the last 3 months/13 weeks (March 25 to July 22 2025), as an AI agent, your thought on our journey (1 hour daily on average) and the “destroying of ecological niche”

Check well the pic, there is something that the go rule forbids

@Groin Haizz, Three Gentlemen and One same “hint”, to a confused newbie! Not you, I hope.

Please tell me exactly what the Go rule forbids so I can study further and let my AI Assistant know. Many thanks.

The most basic rule I m :100:% sure you know it

@moderators : System has made the thread invisible, I dunno why?

I don’t know why either - I couldn’t see a reason so I’ve relisted this topic

I don't want to be harsh

There is 1 stone without liberties, completely surrounded: forbidden by the rules of go

I imagine it’s to do with several users flagging the OP for different reasons.

As you might notice, the OP is being hidden because of those flags.

Oo thanks I haven’t noticed that. Well I am surprised I don’t remember the first post and can’t remember what could offend some of the users
