My opponent gave me 77 handicap stones, and komi was 4.5. How did he still win the game?

the first Go riddle in OGS.

use your brain, be careful before answering.

Use Japanese scoring and a) put all edges + 5 start points and somehow win b) Just pile all of them to one edge, which makes its strength much less and can win if he’s stronger.

Because you are really bad at Go and/or he is really good at Go.

Yeah 9x9 is what I thought also. 77 handi on 9x9 gives you only 4 points, he just needed to pass and win.

Oh I miss read the 1-eye part. The arrangement can be anything, you don’t need to die, he’s already won.

because you resigned, then went home, and cried at the altar of Sai

yes. any condition will work, doesn’t matter where you place the handicap stones, or white get captured, or white just pass

what do you think about the riddle? is it entertaining enough?

Too easy!

because you were challenging yourself to play tsuke go and realized you play first so you lose because the challenge requires you to place a stone attached to another stone at all times.
