But isn’t the concern more of a practical one? I don’t really care if people in my friends list can see my online status but the list itself is getting a little unwieldy. But if I tidy it up by unfriending people then I feel a bit bad because the iconography (if that’s the right word) is all negative and they might feel bad at being unfriended.
And if they don’t notice (I assume there’s not some massive flashing banner/notification that tells them they’ve been unfriended) then there might if I have some reason to refriend then later and they have to accept again.
That was a long way to say that I think the “following” type function would be better. Would the imagery for unfolding be a sad face or something else?
