Would be interesting to know the source of the slow decrease through the years. Less competitive or price money rewards getting lower? (Or both)

I think it’s grandpa getting older. He was dominating Japanese go so much that the amounts at the peaks are ridiculous. Of course, compared to that he’s less dominating now.

I wonder if it’s worth commemorating this data on senseis. It can be easily lost. A lot of data points are already lost. Dead links to deleted pages. Internet forgets all the hecking time.

I searched and searched but earnings data exists only up to 2006. No cool hundred year old graphs. But you can see how earnings are dominated by title holding. Valleys is when someone stole Iyama’s title, right.
