And then we get a violent revolution where people are getting torn apart by mobs on the suspicion they’re synths?
not sure what to say about this – if the current crop of players don’t make things more inclusive to new players — teaching methods and tournaments that include helpful hints etc etc then no it won’t grow and by what i have seen of a lot of the establishment players here —it won’t – not all of them-- some really do try to help begineers but they are in the minority and please get lessons that actually teach how to play the game on a game level - how to defeat ones oponent opening strategy etc etc keep it simple keep it helpful keep it in laymens terms
There will always be people interested in challenging their brains with strategy games, and there will always be a subset of them who gravitate towards Go. There may be less, sure, but never none.
very good retort thanks for the input
you’re welcome. good thread always open active discussion.
maybe we can have statistics data of number active users on OGS in the last 5 years.
those who play at least one game a month and always logged in every month, not just the first month (especially new user)
As you probably know already, this isn’t a great metric, because the same person might have had multiple active user accounts thru the years ^^
