Not sure whether anyone has mentioned it before, but I’ve encountered several times where the OGS AI suggests taking back the ko immediately, even though the opponent just took the ko. In the picture below, white just took at A16 and AI is suggesting to take back immediately at B16.
Is this a bug with the AI or OGS?
I’ve never encountered this when analyzing using my own KataGo.
P.S. I realised it only happens on the demo or review board but not the main board. Does this mean the AI that runs on the main board is different from that on the demo and review board?
it might have been using different instances to call the engine process. Instead of inputting sequences of moves, the demo board just inputs the flattened board position all at once. And it might have been by design, since you literally can put illegal positon on a demo board.
@Counting_Zenist is exactly right. However, I think I can improve it, at least in most cases, I’ve bumped it up on the todo list and will address it when I’m going through some upcoming AI improvements if not before.
