I don’t know what is wimps but I laugh already
Just because you don’t know the joseki, doesn’t mean you can tenuki.
We are going to some trilogy here
How about:
“A tesuji on the board is worth two in the book.”
and
“To drive the train onto the whale’s tail.” for those overplays that escape punishment. see: Go Memes! 🧐
A few months ago, I coined the saying
“If you don’t know what to play in an unsettled corner position, play 3-3.”
Or in its shortened form “If in doubt, play 3-3.”
In my experience commenting games, the 3-3 is usually a key point in the corner, and the success rate of this saying has probably been no less than 75%.
Rank obsession handicaps your game.
When in doubt, don’t click Estimate Score.
“Don’t forget the tenuki option if the move is not in your joseki”
Perhaps reformed as “don’t rush to punish”?
In my last game, I failed to apply that idea and let myself be dragged into complications (it’s a no-komi game, but I didn’t check that at the time).
When you don’t know a complicated joseki, pretend you do. Probably your opponent doesn’t know it either and will mess up.
proverb–Read the proverbs but learn the Go on O.G.S…
