“Don’t forget the tenuki option if the move is not in your joseki”

If you don’t know joseki, tenuki.

That’s better said thanks, but still not really just what I tried to say, because it’s for the case too, when you know, but your opponent doesn’t and you just want to punish but it’s not that a drama because it’s just a matter of 1 point difference.

In that case, the case in which you don’t know the punishment for a certain joseki deviation, isn’t it true that you don’t know the joseki currently on the board? So tenuki. :smiley:

It’s not an overplay unless you can punish it.

Don’t you mean “Be humble when you connect”?

I mean be ashamed, lose your face, cry and shout all the bad words you know in English… each time you don’t have another idea as to connect.

Humiliated is maybe too strong.
How about: There is dishonour in connecting?

That’s sounds more Hikaru generation. Or games of thrones. Ok.

Every Proverb deserves a counterpart;

“Don’t be ashamed to connect, for it is honte.”

O sure. It’s just a few months ago, I got kind of enlightening by watching strong players games and how they really hate to connect. Well sure sometimes it’s just the honte move.

I forgot the term, so I googled it, but I forgot to add “sensei’s library” at the end, and I was really surprised at first, until I realized where I had landed

Yes, every proverb does deserve a counterpart. :wink:

Honte is for wimps.

I don’t know what is wimps but I laugh already

Just because you don’t know the joseki, doesn’t mean you can tenuki.
