Parallel Fractional Go 7

Hypothetically, If I white_cyan play at the square, and all non-blue members of Team White play at the circles (and don’t collide with each other), then does it guarantee capture of triangle? (specifically its blue part)

I believe it doesn’t guarantee the capture, but we might want to try something there.

I didn’t think this through, but would it be worth the risk of a coordinated black counterattack somewhere else on the board just to capture that stone?

Im willing to try it! It does mean that I’d have to pause my attack on red in the top left tho.

As far as the circled points go, who wants what?

Hmm, I was already attacking it but I thought @benjito would want to connect his stones on the left instead.

That was just a thought experiment. Though I do think we will have to try something in the upper-right corner, at some point.

I am hesitant of filling more blue liberties in the upper-right.

@Team Black should we capture the red group in the upper left to gain more liberties?

hmm if Black wants to capture red, maybe I shouldn’t. I’ll at least save my 2 stones though

I think capturing pink would be more advantageous for us in terms of control over the area after the stones is removed. Red is doomed in the upper left regardless so suiciding it for liberties now would be an emergency measure.

side note: I just added coordinates, in case it helps with these strategy discussions

Note: you have to turn it on in settings, and there’s an option for both A1 and 1-1 systems

On the other hand, blue in the top has only 3 liberties and might help black live if captured. Pink has a way out in the south, may be dangerous if it escapes.

@Sadaharu @_Therion @garlicsoup

Should we try and take out the pink group on the right? I think green is eventually going to run out of liberties.

I was also thinking about taking out the pink group on the right but didn’t know how to since there isn’t any suitable place I can play on the bottom right.

Is the green group in danger? I thought green is connected all the way to the top left.

If therion plays K5 then pink will only have three liberties, if I play N2 that’ll take pink down to two. Than you and garlicsoup could attempt to kill.

Then again, maybe it would be better for garlicsoup to connect at K3?

Yeah you’re right, I keep forgetting half of the rules in this game!

Don’t you dare!

@martin3141 , I’m looking at the black vs pink semeai and I see a problem. But we should be able to read this, right?

Edit: I see a second problem. Maybe we don’t have a straightforward way, but I’m still reading.

We just have to make sure that blue in the upper right (currently has 2 liberties) dies before all of upper black (currently 4 liberties including those 2) does.

Blue has even less liberties than pink. We should factor Blues likely capture into our plans.

Sure (although the blue stones aren’t cutting stones).

But should we make a plan for this round?
