I implemented a confirm button once, but back then it leaked the other players’s moves to the last one to play, so we postponed it. But now I think that changed.
I looked at our discussion from back then and there are still some open questions. E.g. in normal go one would like to have previews of captures, but not in one-color go.
Now that only visible state is available in GameView (rather than the full game tree) it should be a lot easier to know what we should or shouldn’t do. In the instance of One Color go, it’s now impossible to meaningfully implement captures client-side.
Round 20
In the upper right @A_Normal_Name secures the blue chains by connecting. Meanwhile @fuseki3 puts one of @Jon_Ko s stones in Atari, who collides with @benjito at a key point on the right.
On the left side @martin3141 connects in the center, and @yebellz blocks white. @Gooplet attaches to blacks nose from below.
@Feijoa pushes into the lower side, where white is a little bit short on liberties.
The green/black stone at the bottom-centre of this screenshotted area is technically in atari, just noticed, and may be worth a connection by @benjito if we want to continue to cut off the blue group on top
(Interestingly, I could add a stone to protect from a white capture also, and it would also connect the black fractional groups, although it seems less efficient than a green-black one)
But White is still connected through the fractional stones (above and to the right), right?
Oh yes, although the blue group is technically lacking full eyes
If blue-white tries to make eyeshape on the right edge, blue-black can fill their eyes in thanks to the fractional shared blue-black-white stone there, which is a cool tesuji.
(At the points above and to the right of the blue-black-white stone)
So that blue group technically only has one potential eye as it can never make eyes on the right.
(For example, if blue-white plays the point to the left and above the blue-black-white stone, blue-black can fill the eye by playing the point above the collision stone the next turn–cool fractional Go techniques.
And the blue-black stones won’t die immediately, due to friendly black chains of black-green stones along with the blue chain of blue-white stones.
Fractional Go groups are so interesting ! )
Is it? I thought it’s connected via the green&white stone next to it
If that doesnt connect things, then i think my whole top right corner is screwed
Green connects through , but black doesn’t. The stone is part of a large green chain with plenty liberties, and also part of a (single stone) black chain with one liberty. If either chain loses its liberties, it gets captured.
Oops in that case, i can connect out, but i think i have a much bigger problem
I think it depends on what’s the future of the big blue chain in the upper right. Could turn out to be a big capturing race
I was really surprised that we were allowed to block black on the right side. I was convinced you and @yebellz would try to connect out.
Ah yeah, it was nice timing to cut in round 17 ^^
Round 21
On the bottom @Jon_Ko captures three black stones and opens some liberties for white.
On the left side @Gooplet @Feijoa and @martin3141 all collide! Close by @yebellz expands their grip on the upper left.
In the upper right @benjito and @fuseki3 both connect endangered stones. @A_Normal_Name moves into the corner.
