Parallel Fractional Go Game 4

Either this is a bug, or am I vastly misunderstanding the rules here

I believe itā€™s a bug.

If thatā€™s not a bug, then there are only features. Iā€™ll take a look at it.

Iā€™ve found the bug: fix liberty check for fractional go by JonKo314 Ā· Pull Request #342 Ā· govariantsteam/govariants Ā· GitHub

Thank you @Jon_Ko for fixing it!

While @yebellz black-cyan captures two brown stones and threatens to cut off a white chain, @A_Normal_Name black-white connects more white stones to that chain.

@fuseki3 black-brown puts also pressure on white-cyan by restricting the upper right groupā€™s access to the black-cyan group on the left. By doing so, @Jon_Ko white-green is able to capture black-brownā€™s tengen stone that was placed in round one.

@martin3141 white-brown also strengthens whiteā€™s center with an extension and so does @Gooplet white-magenta, by loosely capturing three black-(white-)magenta stones.

@Feijoa black-magenta and @benjito black-green choose to strengthen their sides.

Will team white be able to use their influence and counter team blackā€™s attacks in various areas of the board?

@A_Normal_Name, Iā€™ll try to block black on the very right, if you donā€™t disagree.

I am going to connect the top right group to the top group unless if there are better options

Assuming the top right intersection is T19: Do you mean connecting at M18? Itā€™s an option, but I donā€™t think itā€™s super urgent. Cutting there for team black seems harder than capturing M15 or K17 for team white and that gives the three cyan stones some breathing space (maybe even capturing our J15 stone is an option, what do you think @martin3141 ?).

Another thing to do would be to push through/cut the black-green N14-Q13 ogeima. You could also try to block black on the very right on your own (or help me do that).

yea youā€™re right, M18 isnā€™t urgent. I can block at S15 or S16 if that can help

I donā€™t think that would help the blue chain.

It helps most, if itā€™s not predictable, otherwise team black can easily adjust to it. If they donā€™t know where weā€™re attacking, itā€™s harder to defend.

Be aware of all our opponentā€™s weaknesses and pick a reasonable move. Donā€™t be predictable now.

Oh, and @A_Normal_Name, Iā€™ll include S14 in my options, then R15 becomes an additional cutting point. Iā€™ll use an RNG to decide which move to play.

Ack, misclicked and seem to have been last to play

Unfortunately we have not implemented an undo feature yet. Are you using a phone or PC?

I think we could technically change the move in the database.

Famous last words

if we really need to do it, let me knowā€¦ i need to poke the db to bootstrap some user role stuff soon too

Phone, itā€™s all right though, Iā€™ll be more careful with the tap-click, or submitting my move quickly before all players have played as itā€™ll still be changeable if I make a misclick ^^

(and itā€™d probably lead to more confusion than itā€™s worth for this game as weā€™ve all seen each othersā€™ moves for the round)

Although undo may be useful as a feature in general ā€“ we had some issues with misclicking when I played on phone with @Tschej in one-colour Go and I remember misclicking on occasion, or nearly misclicking many times on phone on the site when playing moves in other games.

Or perhaps just an optional confirm button option ^^ (maybe easier to program :slightly_smiling_face: )
